An artist HARAKARA・KAZUHIKO YAKUSHIJI, a sculptor, creates artworks
from transparent materials such as glass and acrylic.
Main theme is on marine mammals like dolphins and whales.
The sculptures created by Yakushiji are expressed caring about delicate
faces and details. The beautiful works like drops of the ocean will give
you feeling like comfort in the bosom of motherhood of the ocean.
Yakushiji is always given inspiration for his art work by dolphins, whales、and
ocean.
In addition, he sees marine mammals as his friends or family, so he dedicates
his deep appreciation and his sense of intimacy for them in order to name
his art studio HARAKARA which is an ancient Japanese word means friends
or brothers.
In 2002, together with Bridgestone, one of the most well-know rubber makers
in the world, Yakushiji started to take part in
formed by Churaumi
aquarium in Okinawa for Fuji, a female dolphin which lost most of
her caudal fin by the rare disease.
His art work is very original and one of a kind.
We hope you enjoy Yakushiji's world of the arts.
